Experience a Two-Day Introduction to Sailing
Have you always wanted to see what it’s like to sail?
Thinking about taking sailing lessons and want to learn more?
Looking for a quick refresher to get back on the water under sail?
This 2-day (12 hour) course is all about having a fun experience on the water as you get an introduction to the world of sailing. Runs 10AM to 4PM each day.
Learn and participate in running the boat:
Preparing for departure
Hoisting and trimming the sails
Steering, reading the wind, learning points of sail
Sailing maneuvers: tacking, jibing, heaving to, crew overboard rescue
And of course you’ll see the Long Beach skyline and cargo ships from the water. If conditions allow, we’ll venture out into the ocean!
Includes NauticEd Introduction to Sailing online course
State of the art online training topics in the Introduction to Sailing course include Terminology & Communication, Rigging & Parts of the Boat, Rules of Giveaway, Maneuvering in the Marina, Sailing, and Safety. Includes lifetime access to course materials. Please complete this course prior to beginning your on the water training.
